haha fair enough looks like u did a pretty good job, all i did with mine was primer and black coat and they lasted 4 months so far lol they are still as good as the day i sprayed them

same.. primer , gloss black paint and lacquer =D
its the sanding thats the pain! lol and masking up

ahh i didnt even lacquer mine lol i got lazy which is why they are like matt black. and sanding took me a few hours, my wheels were silver and the paint was peeling off so they were a nightmare lol

I could but then the paint on the bolts would get scratched when putting them back on.
Unless i can get coloured covers for them??

im sure you can get caps for them for a couple of quid off ebay

Orange engraving? Or lip? Get some rim tape save painting again?

Don't think the VTS wheels will suit your car to be honest alec, would have to see them on it though !!

im gonna do some photoshopping when i get the new one installed and then we'll see, the wheels on it are already the same shape as VTS nearly (well, they are a bit curved lol)

It's high temperature paint/caliper paint. My brother got some in exactly same can lol

Well i received my brake caliper paint yesterday in the post from eBay =D

Started it last night because i was so impatient! doing it in the dark with lights shining all over the place wasn't didn't make the best conditions but hey.

This is the back one as my front work looks pooy thanks to the stupid caliper clip being an ass to put back on!


After attacking it with a wire brush, then masking up and spraying it with brake cleaner it looked like this..


Gave it it's first coat of paint, don't think it's looking too bad =D


Then having to wait for it to dry before the next coat i hired my big bad ass retriever to look after my car


BANG!! A picture of the front, Im pretty pleased with it as it was my first ever attempt at this sort of thing, could look a bit better but hey =]


The back.. And yes i know it looks like its ridiculously high but im on a hill with the handbrake on and it does need lowering..

I still think either an orange lip or orange wheel bolts. Or even orange letting down one spoke "GTI" or something

Hmm im not sure on the rim tape.. All i was thinking was some orange dust caps for shows lol but all i can find is dice and everyone has them!

Paint a spare set so the paint dont chip and swap them at shows.

Could always PhotoShop rim tape or something. Gotta love a good rim job

Why don't you have a go at making your own dust caps? There's an easy was of doing it...

Get the item you want to use as the cap, drill a hole in it and then super glue a plastic dust cap inside

Ooo good idea just got to find something now lol.

Next mod:
Will most likely be torsion bar lowered
Plus hopefully swapping my buckets for full leathers =]

Updates on this will be very few from now on!
As im saving to hopefully get an old mini, i don't want to have to restore it so it'll cost me a few grand.
So this might be up for sale next year.
